Abstract：This book has given the description and analysis to the tremendous changes in west area and the development of West China since reform and opening for 30 years. Authors are from different domains, they have elaborated the progress and experiences of the development of West China, the strategic position of development of west area in Chinese development, the challenges to the market principle reform in west China, the issues about ecological environment initiated by the development of west China and the countermeasures respectively from respective angle of view, meanwhile they have also elaborated the issues concerning woman development and environmental protection in west China. An important characteristic of this book is various angles of issue analysis, and thus the conclusions are different, which has reflected the important meaning of the observation and formulation of the problems from different angles.
