The establishment of National Institute of Social Development

On December 29, 2011, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences held a meeting in Beijing to announce the establishment of National Institute of Social Development. National Academy of Economic Strategy and National Institute of International Strategy were set up at the same day. Wang Weiguang (Deputy Secretary of Party Committee CASS and Executive Vice-President of CASS), Yu Hongjun (Vice Minister of The International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC), Li Shenming (member of Party Committee CASS) and Zhu Guimu (member of Party Committee CASS) unveiled plague for the three new institutes.

Director of National Institute of Social Development Li Hanlin emphasized that the institute will take macro, comprehensive and multi-interdisciplinary perspective to do high-quality research and focus on both basic and applied studies to serve the reform and social development.
