From the perspectives of education, employment, income distribution, right protection, interest adjustment, social security, food security and public health, this department focuses on theories and practice of public governance for improving people’s well-being, social harmony and stability. It analyzes the reasonable allocation and distribution of public resources and social causes of distribution inequality.
This department conducts research on governance issues at the micro-level, seeks to understand the institutional logics of local governance. Some major research activities are as follows:

2.Issues related to community building and public governance in the process of urbanization and social change;
